1994 R32 GTR , imported to Australia June 2007.
I started with the R32 GTS-T and the Skyline fever only got worse from there.
The GTST made me want to drive faster and harder. I put this down to the feedback you get from these cars in that you can really feel what they are doing and with that comes trust, trust enough to want to push it even further. So I joined the local Hillclimb club, and booked myself into the Peter Finlay Racing Drivers School at Oran Park.
I was concerned that I wasn't aggressive enough for track, however Peter Finlay made it quite clear that I was certainly aggressive enough. Let the fun begin...
I went along to my first event in the GTS-T not expecting to do very well and won Fastest Lady of the Day. That was it, I was adrenalin filled and hooked in a big way.
My next step was the GTR and WOW what a car it is (I'm allowed to be biased). I wanted to hot it up and drive it like it was stolen. So I joined Nengun and started on my shopping basket as follows
* Exedy - Hyper Metal - Compe-R - Twin Plate Clutch
* HKS - Turbo Kit - GT-SS - GTR
* HKS - Polished Front Pipe - GTR and RX-7
* Trust - Greddy - Profec - B-Spec. II
People are telling me that my car is so clean that I should keep it stock, wrap it in glad wrap and store it away *I'm confused now* I don't know what to do... get another GTR and do it up instead? Sounds like a plan to me :)
So now Im on the lookout for another R32 GTR.
I have to be honest, I'm so smitten with this car that I can't park it and walk away without looking back in admiration (admit it... you've done it yourself). But once I was looking back and walked into a huge concrete pole... I hope security don't put that footage up on youtube *blush* I can see it now "PRICELESS".
Back to motorsports... naturally we cannot get enough of fine tuning (me, more than the car). I still had some girlie fears of getting the rear wheel drive GTS-T loose on the corners so did a couple of Skid & Drift training days with Dereck Crook from Fifth Gear Motorsports. These are fabulous courses and helped me push harder through the corners as I got over my fear of drifting, which until then, I had perceived as being 'out of control'. I also did an advanced Performance Training course with Fifth Gear at Wakefield Park. Dereck has a way of explaining 'how to listen to your car' i.e. keeping it balanced etc that really clicked with me.
Its been just over 12 months now of running both cars at every meeting. I've bettered my PB's at every meeting and now hold the Ladies Track Record. They tell me that I'm the only lady to come first in an event and I'm the only lady who has ever come 4th outright (all categories inc open wheelers) out of 55 entries. I'll let you know "when" (notice I didn't say if) I get FToD.
I joined Skyline Australia and the support from there has been overwhelming. We have had a lot of fun and I've made what I believe will be lifelong friendships from this group.

Performance
The R32 GT-R was introduced in 1989 and continued the very successful racing heritage of its famous GT-R predecessors with several championship titles. They were built to fit Japanese Group A racing specifications and only hit the road because the rules demanded its street homologation. In reality, this is a race-car for the street.
