The HKS Hi Power Spec R exhaust system is a a full-fledged sports muffler with HKS's "aggressive construction" throughout, including sound, layout, exhaust performance, and fine details. This is the pinnacle model of sports mufflers, and pursues a straight structure with a one-piece structure without connections, eliminating all waste while clearing JASMA standards.
By using titanium as the main material, corrosion resistance has been improved and the weight has been surprisingly reduced.

Features

The main material is titanium, which is lightweight and has excellent corrosion resistance.
By thoroughly reducing the weight of each component, HKS achieved an astonishing 65% reduction in weight compared to the original product (varies slightly depending on the vehicle model).
The one-piece structure eliminates the step of the divided parts, and by making it as straight as possible, exhaust resistance is suppressed and a significant increase in output is achieved.
The dual structure of the tail end prevents the bumper from burning and at the same time emphasizes the luxury required of a street model.

About HKS

HKS was founded in October 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa, a former Yamaha engineer, and Goichi Kitagawa, with start-up capital from Sigma Automotive; the name comes from Hasegawa, Kitagawa and Sigma. It began in a small shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, and is still based there.

In 1974 HKS built one of the first bolt-on turbo kits, for the Nissan L20 engine in the Skyline, raising output from 115 to 160 PS. Turbocharging made its name; today it also makes exhausts, springs, shocks and coilover suspension, and it marked its 50th anniversary in 2023.
