OEM Parts Buying Guide

Genuine accessories and dealer options

Japanese car makers sell two kinds of extras for a new car: factory options, built in on the production line, and dealer options, the genuine accessories a dealer fits to the finished car. Dealer options and genuine accessories from Honda, Toyota and GR, Lexus, Mazda, Suzuki and STI are designed for one model, often for particular grades or years of it, and are made to the car maker's own standards.

Check the fit before ordering

These parts are made for the Japanese-market car. Check the listing against your car's model code, year, grade and drive side: export versions of the same model can differ in bodywork, wiring and equipment. Some accessories also depend on a factory option being fitted first, as a roof carrier may need the factory roof rails.

Replacement parts by part number

For replacement parts, Nengun also supplies genuine parts by part number through its OEM parts catalogue, which covers makers including Nissan, Toyota and Honda. The catalogue can be searched by your car's VIN or its Japanese frame number (such as BNR34-403576 on an R34 GT-R), which finds the parts catalogue for that exact car rather than the model in general. Makers revise parts over time, so a number on an old part may have been replaced by a newer one.

When a part for an older car has been discontinued, some makers have put it back into production: see Heritage Parts.
