STI, Subaru Tecnica International, was founded on April 2, 1988 by Subaru (then Fuji Heavy Industries) to bring Subaru's motorsport work under one company, and is based in Mitaka, Tokyo. Its first public outing was a world speed endurance record run in the Legacy in 1989.
STI prepared Subaru's cars for the World Rally Championship with Prodrive, which made the Impreza WRX STI famous, and it races at the Nurburgring 24 Hours and in Super GT. Its road parts, developed alongside Subaru's own cars, include suspension, brakes, exhausts, chassis bracing, aero and interior parts for the WRX, Impreza, BRZ, Levorg, Forester and more.
