• Cold forming: The advantage of cold forming, in which steel material is wound at room temperature, is that it produces springs that are high in strength, resistant to sagging, and have a gentle initial rebound. They are firm yet don't feel stiff. This results in springs that literally have a supple feel. Incidentally, Tanabe's coiling machines are powerful enough to fully wind steel material with linear lengths of 14mm or more at room temperature. The rough cut surface of the UP210 is proof that this advanced cold forming method is used.
• Both manufacturing and steel materials are "Made in Japan": Tanabe springs are developed and manufactured in-house, with a focus on safety and reliability. Furthermore, the steel and other materials that make up their products are sourced domestically, and they continue to pursue the creation of safe and secure products with a high level of quality, even in the invisible parts.
• A strict inspection system: To ensure safety and security, all wire rods undergo microhardness testing. Tanabe strictly inspect the mechanical properties and chemical composition of wire rods to ensure they meet the mill sheet (steel inspection certificate), as well as the specifications and actual manufacturing values. Only wire rods that pass these tests are allowed to proceed to the manufacturing process. Furthermore, Tanabe strictly check the dimensions and performance of the manufactured springs to ensure they are meeting the design specifications.
• Special coating that is extremely resistant to rust and peeling: The base is treated with "zinc phosphate coating" and "cationic electrodeposition coating," which are also used on genuine car manufacturer parts, and then the coating is strengthened with "powder coating," dramatically improving durability and rust resistance against scratches and snow removal agents.
