Tomei selected stainless for the material of the gasket, which it is possible to cool down the cylinder effectively by transferring heat to the cylinder head equally with the high thermal conductivity of stainless. And since it does not become high temperature locally, cylinder head will hardly blow.
Since intensity of stainless steel is high, it can make the joint rigidity of the cylinder head and the engine block high and prevents blown head. If combination of a head and a block is firm, twist and bent of the whole engine can be reduced while rigidity is increased, and the durability of power transmission will be improved.
Features
- The sealing performance has been improved considerably with the super grommet, to suit these engines and has been proven to deliver excellent reliability.
- The bead top ply is made of durable but flexible SUS301. High heat radiation character of SUS301 helps transferring heat of the head and the block to coolant efficiently and prevents heat spots which causes gasket blow. SUS301 is also known for its tensile strength and it helps the beads to keep sealing the head and cylinder which repeat heat expansion and shrink all the time. This structural strength also improves torsional rigidity of the whole engine by improving coupling rigidity of the head and the block.
- All TOMEI metal head gaskets are laser marked with Models, Bores, Thickness, and TOMEI POWERED INC. company name. Since there are similar/counterfeit goods on market, please make sure logos on Gasket.

About Tomei
Tomei was founded in 1968 by members of the Johoku Riders motorcycle club, among them Nissan works driver Seiichi Suzuki. It began as a racing engine builder for Nissan engines only, and its work on the Nissan L-series and later the RB and SR engines made its name. The company took the name Tomei Powered when it moved to Machida, Tokyo, in 1994.
Tomei now develops parts for many Japanese engines, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Toyota as well as Nissan: camshafts, valve train parts, pistons, connecting rods and crankshafts, complete engines, and exhaust systems such as its well-known Expreme titanium range.
