HKS Japan has developed the Valcon V Cam system for the RB26DETT. Is used to insert a sequential variable valve Timing mechanism, not originally equipped on the intake side. In addition to further improving the high speed range, The HKS V cam System significantly improves torque deficiency in the low and medium speed ranges. The reason being the torque near the launch of the supercharge from the negative pressure range is particularly improved. The effects can be felt in everyday, common situations such as city driving as well as overtaking at high speeds on country roads. In addition the kit contributes to environmental performance such as improving fuel economy and cleaner exhaust gases because combustion Conditions are improved by optimizing Valve timing.

Valve Spring
- STEP 2 - HKS Uprated Valve springs (for increasing maximum RPM, Sold separately)
- STEP Pro - HKS Uprated Valve springs required (Sold separately)
Piston
- STEP 1 - Stock

Oil Pump
- HKS Oil Pump recommended
Head Modification
- STEP Pro required some machining to allow for cam lobe movement
Precautions for Use:
Maximum RPM
- STEP 1 - 8,000rpm (Stock Rev Limiter)
- STEP 2 - 8,000rpm (With Stock Valve Springs), 8,500rpm (With HKS Valve springs, Sold separately)
- STEP Pro - 8,800rpm (With HKS Valve springs, Sold separately)
Oil Temperature, Water Temperature
- If oil viscosity is low, oil pressure may not reach adequate levels resulting in valve timing not reaching desired values. Valve timing will not increase when water temperature is under 60°C
Recommended Oil
- SUPER OIL (RB), Racing Pro Oil 10W-50
Timing Belt
- Check every 10,000km for wear and tension. Adjust or replace if necessary.

About HKS
HKS was founded in October 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa, a former Yamaha engineer, and Goichi Kitagawa, with start-up capital from Sigma Automotive; the name comes from Hasegawa, Kitagawa and Sigma. It began in a small shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, and is still based there.
In 1974 HKS built one of the first bolt-on turbo kits, for the Nissan L20 engine in the Skyline, raising output from 115 to 160 PS. Turbocharging made its name; today it also makes exhausts, springs, shocks and coilover suspension, and it marked its 50th anniversary in 2023.
