Hayashi Racing is an Osaka racing car constructor and wheel maker led by Shoichi Hayashi, born in Higashiosaka in 1942, which built racing cars until 1985. The Hayashi Karman Apache sports car ran in the 1969 Japan Grand Prix at Fuji, and Hayashi Racing went on to make FL500, FJ1300 and Formula 3 cars before selling its racing car division to Tokyo R&D in 1985.
The aluminium wheel made for the Karman Apache became the Hayashi Street Wheel, which is still made in Japan today.
