HKS offer their Cylinder Liners for these popular tuning engines and cars. The cylinder liner is a cylindrical component that makes up the inner wall of the cylinder where the piston moves up and down. It is responsible for the wear that occurs on the cylinder wall and protects the engine block itself. HKS has designated it not only as a wear part but also as a structural component that can withstand combustion pressure. This product has been tested in high-output drag racing vehicles and can be used not only for competition but also as an overhaul part for neo-classic engines where new blocks are difficult to obtain.

- By installing the HKS CYLINDER LINER, it becomes possible to use bore diameters of φ86 to φ87 again.
- By using a special material with graphite deposited on its surface, it is possible to prevent seizing even when performing mirror-finish processing, thereby reducing friction.

About HKS
HKS was founded in October 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa, a former Yamaha engineer, and Goichi Kitagawa, with start-up capital from Sigma Automotive; the name comes from Hasegawa, Kitagawa and Sigma. It began in a small shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, and is still based there.
In 1974 HKS built one of the first bolt-on turbo kits, for the Nissan L20 engine in the Skyline, raising output from 115 to 160 PS. Turbocharging made its name; today it also makes exhausts, springs, shocks and coilover suspension, and it marked its 50th anniversary in 2023.
